Breast augmentation with your own fat, also known as fat grafting, is a method where the surgeon takes fat from other parts of the body, such as the abdomen or thighs, and transplants it to the breasts. This method gives a more natural result and can also be combined with fat removal from areas where it is desired.

For women who want more volume but do not want large silicone prostheses, a hybrid operation can be a good alternative. Here, fat grafting is combined with smaller silicone prostheses to achieve the desired result.
Complications are rare, but can include bruising, temporary asymmetry, cyst formation or loss of some of the transplanted fat. It is also important to follow all post-operative guidelines to ensure that as much of the fat as possible survives the transplant.
After one treatment, usually about 70 % of the transplanted fat will remain permanently. This method gives a more natural result than prosthetics, with softer breasts that follow the body's natural movements. The breasts can go up about one cup size, and the result can be further improved with more treatments if desired.
Breast augmentation with silicone prostheses has been used since the 1960s and is still a very popular method. Here, silicone implants are placed either above or below the pectoral muscle to give the desired volume and shape.
