Sculptra is an injection treatment that tightens the skin while also having a skin-enhancing effect. Sculptra is an injection treatment that has a biostimulating effect on the skin. This means that the product helps to increase collagen and elastin production by optimizing the production capacity of fibroblast cells. Fibroblast cells are cells that help to produce collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin. These cells help to maintain the skin's natural resilience and fullness, while counteracting visible signs of ageing. Sculptra consists of a substance called Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) that has been used in a medical context for over 50 years. The product is both CE marked and FDA approved, and is therefore safe to inject into the skin.
Approved for aesthetic use in 40 countries, the product is a popular treatment for skin improvement and tightening.
When you first arrive for a consultation, the cosmetic nurse will sit down with you to discuss your needs, wishes and expectations regarding medical treatment with us. Based on what you tell us during the consultation, we will tailor an overview of the treatments that are most relevant to you. Treatment is often carried out on the same day. Sculptra is an injection treatment that is injected directly into the skin using a cannula. When injecting, we use a long needle that is blunt at the end so that we can work with the product under the tissue. The treatment is virtually painless, and generally results in less swelling and bruising directly after treatment. If desired, anesthetic cream can be applied to the skin in advance. The treatment itself takes around 30 minutes.
Sculptra is particularly suitable for those struggling with sagging skin and poor skin structure.
The product helps to increase the skin's firmness and fullness, while the hyaluronic acid helps the skin to retain moisture for longer. Sculptra reduces wrinkles and fine lines and leaves a natural volume over time. The product only gives results after 3-12 months, so it is important to apply with patience. Sculptra is a long-term investment that optimizes skin quality over time, and is especially suitable for those who are looking for a natural result. We recommend a course of 3-6 treatments, depending on how poor the structure of the skin is already.
The treatment is suitable from 35 years and up. Klinikk A has an age limit of 20 years for all our treatments.
Immediately after a treatment with Sculptra, slight swelling may occur in the treated area. This disappears shortly after treatment. It is also not uncommon for small temporary bruises to occur, which disappear after a few days. These can be covered with make-up the day after treatment if you wish. Avoid exercise and sauna on the same day.
You will see visible results already after the first treatment. However, it is recommended that you have 3-6 treatments at 4-6 week intervals to achieve the best possible results. If you want lasting results, you should also take 1-2 maintenance treatments a year after completing the treatment course.
Before and after photos have long been prohibited when it comes to cosmetic surgery in Norway. On 21.3.2023, new guidelines were introduced where before and after photos now also include injection treatments and other cosmetic treatments that penetrate the skin.
Before and after pictures are therefore not posted on our website or other social platforms linked to the clinic. If you want to see pictures of results that have been done, you can access this when you come to a consultation.
The consultation with the nurse is free of charge. If canceled less than 24 hours in advance, or in case of no-show, NOK 600 will be charged. This applies to the consultation with the nurse.
Fille treatment is performed by a cosmetic dermatology nurse at the clinic.
