A treatment that improves the skin's vitality and gives the skin a firmer structure.
PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma and consists of active cells that you find naturally in your own blood. These cells help to speed up the body's healing process, while also strengthening the skin.
By injecting PRP, you can help slow down various signs of ageing such as wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin. PRP helps to increase the production of collagen and elastin, giving the skin better vitality and a healthier appearance.
The skin gets more fullness and volume, and a more natural result. As PRP is plasma from your own blood, it is no allergic reactions linked to the treatment itself.
A PRP treatment is a treatment that gives the skin new vitality, while improving
skin structure using growth factors and plasma cells from your own blood. The treatment is suitable for everyone
skin types and works both preventively and reparatively against wrinkles and volume loss in the skin. PRP strengthens
skin barrier, and in addition to improving skin quality, can also contribute to increased hair growth for
scalp.
When you come for a consultation, the nurse will talk to you a little about different expectations, results and any side effects of the treatment. Next, the nurse draws blood directly from your arm using a thin cannula. This blood is then put into a centrifugation machine that separates the active cells from the blood. These active cells are then drawn up into a syringe, and applied directly to your skin using small needle pricks or Dermapen.
The product can also be injected directly into the skin as small boluses, if you want to work on specific areas such as wrinkles around the eyes, mouth or chest.
After treatment you lie with a special mask for about 15 minutes. The treatment ends
with an application of cream and SPF, so that your skin is well protected when you leave.
You will notice that the skin is slightly red immediately after treatment, but this will subside after about 24 hours. In some cases, small swelling or local bruising may occur in the area. These are very temporary and easy to cover with makeup.
Before treatment you may want to drink plenty of fluids in the last 24 hours to optimize the blood plasma in your body.
Avoid various NSAIDS preparations as this contributes to affecting the function of the growth factors. Examples of this are Ibuprofen and Aspirin.
Avoid anticoagulant preparations before treatment. If you are on regular medication that may affect the treatment, you must take a break from these prior to the treatment, this is agreed directly with your GP.
Avoid sun 6-8 weeks after treatment. Avoid exercise and sauna for a few days after treatment.
How many treatments you need depends on what you want to work on in the skin. Do you want to
only glow and a fresher skin tone, all it takes is a couple of treatments at regular intervals 2-3
times a year, to maintain a healthy and fresh skin quality.
If you want to work on specific skin issues such as elasticity, fullness, wrinkles and volume loss, it requires a little more stimulation.
We recommend a course of 6-8 treatmentsso that the skin has enough time to renew itself and repair any damage that has already occurred in the skin. In some cases, combination treatments with fillers, biostimulation or other treatments are required to achieve the desired result. You will be informed of this when you come for a consultation, and the nurse will then tailor a treatment plan
customized for you and your skin type.
The treatments are performed at intervals of approximately 4-6 weeks.
Duration of the treatment: 45 minutes
Other contraindications: Pregnant, breastfeeding women and people with compromised immune systems cannot
perform the treatment.
