There are further options, such as "En bloc" removal of implants
and capsule. "En bloc" removal of encapsulated prosthesis has been a topic at congresses and in
literature in recent years, but is performed to a lesser extent as no obvious benefits have been seen with the en bloc method. En bloc removal requires a
larger scars than with regular implant and capsule removal.

Usually, the downtime is shorter and less demanding when dentures are removed compared to when they are inserted. Of course, this also depends on the procedure performed. We recommend planning for reduced activity and office work for 1 - 2 weeks after such an operation.

Only after 6 weeks can you start exercising normally, but listen to your body.
The scar is usually bandaged during surgery with a liquid plaster, tape (Micropore) and a white bandage (Mepore). The white, outer bandage is only removed when you take your first shower.
The tape on the inside of the skin is retained until the first check on Klinikk A.
You can usually shower 3-4 days after surgery.
When implants are removed, you can expect your breasts to return to their natural shape. During the first 3 months, the breast will adapt to the removal of the implants and take on its new shape and size. For many, this is acceptable.
If you want to change the prosthesis, lift the breast or enlarge the breast with your own fat, it will affect the result.

All surgeries have a risk of complications. The most common are bleeding, infection and unfavorable scarring. If new implants are inserted, a capsular contracture may develop. In general, the incidence of

Today's prostheses are of very high quality. Both Mentor and Motiva offer a lifetime guarantee that the prostheses will not fracture in the body. The quality of prostheses has steadily improved as a result of technological developments.
Silicone implants inserted a few years ago are not of the same high quality. Some patients experience spontaneous leakage from the silicone implants after
many years. This can be clarified on ultrasound or MRI.

Breast Implant Illness, BII, is a term for a condition where some women experience diffuse symptoms with silicone implants. Examples include fatigue, musculoskeletal pain, lack of energy and headaches. This phenomenon has been researched quite extensively, and no clear connection between silicone prostheses and such symptoms has been proven. However, some women do experience an improvement in their symptoms after removal of the prostheses.
If you have had silicone implants for 10 years, we recommend a check-up. The surgeon can then make a recommendation regarding the recommended time to remove or replace the prostheses.
Today's prostheses are of a very high quality, and we usually say that it's good to have a 15-year perspective in terms of when it might be appropriate to do something about them.

In general, it is better to replace silicone implants a little early. It is easier to preserve a good result if implants are replaced before a capsule or silicone leak occurs.
